We publish results from tests on system and data protection provided by solutions from various developers. We evaluate tested solutions for threat detection, incident response, information visibility in the admin console, security effectiveness in the long-term, additional features, and more.
On the basis of telemetry data obtained from the test, we make a periodic summary and award appropriate certificates and recommendations. As a result, people responsible for security can make smarter purchasing decisions and better choose technologies that will be tailored to specific requirements.
We issue certificates in the following test categories:
Certificates are granted to solutions that are characterized by a high level of security, with a rating of at least 99.6% of blocked threats.
Once all rounds of the Advanced In-The-Wild Malware Test have been completed in a calendar year, we award a special Product of the Year certificate to a product that has participated in at least three editions of the test and blocked at least 99% of in-the-wild threats.
TOP Remediation Time certificate is awarded in recognition of an effective and timely response to malware that encompasses the entire malware lifecycle – from the moment the sample enters the system to the removal of malicious activity, such as restarting the operating system or restoring data using the rollback feature. The security solution must provide 100% detection and removal of threats.
The certificate was awarded to those manufacturers whose software for protecting online banking and payments managed to detect all prepared attack scenarios in accordance with the technical assumptions and methodology.
The solutions awarded in the tests of EDR-XDR products are characterized by proven monitoring of the protected infrastructure along with full visibility of telemetry data from attacks.
Similar to the above, here the solutions are characterized by at least partial visibility of attacks in telemetry.
We’ve been in this business for years, and we’ve learned a thing or two along the way. Based on our experience, we only recommend solutions that we’ve tested ourselves, and we’re confident in our recommendations.
Vendors can participate directly in the Advanced In-The-Wild Malware Test or obtain a Certification-Only Package for a product independently tested by AVLab. Paid participation provides access to extended technical services, test data, and custom configuration options, while result review and verification remain available to all tested vendors.
Commercial use of AVLab certificates, certification badges, and award materials by independently tested vendors requires either Paid Assessment Participation or a Certification-Only Package. Independently tested vendors without either option may be listed in AVLab results and certification records but are not granted the right to use AVLab certification materials in their own marketing or communications.
